Darren McFadden was once a starting running back in the NFL for the then Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys, but now he'll be spending time behind bars. According to TMZ Sports, McFadden has been sentenced to four days in jail.

Back in January of 2019, McFadden was found by police asleep at the wheel at a Whataburger drive-thru in Texas. When the officers confronted McFadden, he resisted arrest and his car was damaged in the process.

After the scuffle, the authorities charged the former NFL running back with resisting arrest and DWI. It was discovered that McFadden had a BAC of greater than or equal to 0.15. The legal limit of BAC in Texas currently sits at 0.08.

In an attempt to get the charges dropped, McFadden reached a plea deal within the past week. While he pled guilty to drunk driving, McFadden's resisting arrest charge was negated.

Following his plea deal, Darren McFadden is required to serve four days in jail. Due to already being detained, McFadden was already credited one day of served jail time.

McFadden was a coveted prospect during his time in college at Arkansas and was the No. 4 pick in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Raiders. The Razorbacks product would spend seven years with the Raiders before signing with the Cowboys in 2015.

In his first season with the Cowboys, McFadden rushed for 1,089 yards and three touchdowns. However, McFadden would become a depth option for the Cowboys for the next two seasons and he retired after the 2017 campaign.

As it appears, McFadden chose to remain in the Dallas area after his professional career.
