Marshawn Lynch, former Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders running back, made a name for himself on and off of the football field throughout his NFL career. Now, in his new role with the NFLPA, Lynch will help other players make a name for themselves both on and off the field.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Lynch will now serve as the NFLPA's first ever chief brand ambassador. Lynch will reportedly assist the development of present, past and future players both on and off the field.

Marshawn Lynch played 12 NFL seasons, with seven of those coming with the Seattle Seahawks. Lynch helped the Seahawks win back-to-back NFC Championships in 2013 & 2014, and Super Bowl XLVIII to cap off the 2013 season. He had 10,413 rushing yards for his career to go with 85 rushing touchdowns. From 2011 to 2014 with Seattle, Lynch averaged 1,339 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns per season. He totaled over 6,000 yards from scrimmage and scored 56 total touchdowns over the four year span.

Marshawn Lynch released a statement this morning in regards to the move:

“I’m always tryin’ to make the most out’ta my time and opportunities. Ya’ feel me? If you make it through pee wee, high school, college and you’re lucky enough to call yourself an NFL player, you’re in a situation to create and take part in hella opportunities, but you have to understand that you only get a little bit of time in that uni’, so you gotta max it out and put yourself in a position to make plays on and off the turf,” said Lynch.

“By partnering with the NFLPA and working with De Smith, I can share my path, pass down what I’ve been through and seen, so players can see what’s really out there for them and tap in to all the resources their teams, communities and the PA have available,” Lynch added. “I wanna put them in positions to be successful in every facet of their lives from building businesses based on their passions to of course takin’ care of their mentals and stackin’ their chicken.”

Classic Marshawn Lynch.
