Former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy will reportedly be rather selective when it comes to taking his new coaching job.

McCarthy was fired by the team following their Week 13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, with the Packers eventually winding up with their second straight losing season in finishing 6-9-1.

That was enough for the Green Bay front office to go in a different direction, with plenty of top-notch candidates expected to be in the mix for the job.

As for McCarthy, he figures to get a serious look for multiple teams around the NFL due to the fact that he has one Super Bowl title to go along with nine playoff appearances.

That should allow him to be picky in choosing his new spot, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport makes a good point about McCarthy not wanting to settle for just any job, as again, he's going to be able to sell himself quite well given his postseason success throughout the years.

Yes, he did it with Aaron Rodgers under center, but it's still an impressive feat to lead a team to that many appearances in the playoffs while also winning a Super Bowl.

It appears that the Cleveland Browns are interested in discussing their opening with McCarthy, and there will be a lot of other teams that follow suit.

Even if McCarthy doesn't land somewhere this offseason, he'll be someone that is mentioned in the majority of coaching searches until he chooses to take over for a new team.
