Steve Helling and Lindsay Kimble of People revealed that Tebow proposed to Nel-Peters at his family's farm just outside of Jacksonville, Fl. on Wednesday.

Tebow played three seasons in the NFL.

The 31-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Florida, was originally selected by the Denver Broncos in the first round (25th pick overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.

He played in nine games during his rookie campaign, making three starts and throwing for 654 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions while completing 50 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 82.1.

The following year, Tebow made 11 starts and led the Broncos to the playoffs, registering 1,729 yards, 12 touchdowns, and six picks while completing just 46.5 percent of his passes and recording a passer rating of 72.9.

However, in spite of his underwhelming regular-season numbers, Tebow guided Denver to a stunning Wild Card Round upset over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Then, in March 2012, the Broncos traded Tebow to the New York Jets, where he served mostly as a special teamer.

That was the last time Tebow appeared in an NFL regular-season game.

Since then, Tebow has taken up baseball and currently resides in the New York Mets' minor-league system. He actually had a decent year for a former-quarterback-turned-baseballer in 2018, registering a slash line of .273/.336/.399 with six home runs and 36 RBI over 298 plate appearances. He owns a lifetime slash line of .244/.319/.367 in three minor-league seasons.
