It's an AFC West rivalry for Week 10! The Kansas City Chiefs head to Las Vegas to take on the Raiders on Sunday. It's time to continue our NFL odds series with a Chiefs-Raiders prediction and pick.
Kansas City is coming off an ugly win over the Green Bay Packers last Sunday. The Packers were without Aaron Rodgers and so Jordan Love started his first NFL game. The Chiefs' defense played great, shutting down almost every Packers' possession. Offensively was a whole other story. Patrick Mahomes threw for just 166 yards and one touchdown to Travis Kelce. That TD came early in the game, so Green Bay's defense shut down the Chiefs' offense for almost three full quarters. That is going to need to change if the Chiefs want to be successful like we're used to seeing.

The Las Vegas Raiders continue to see off-the-field distractions. The good news is that they are still in second place in the tough AFC West division. This will be a good test for them as the Chiefs come into town for Sunday Night Football. This is a swing game for these two teams. If the Chiefs win, they move into second place in the division. If the Raiders win, they could move into first place if the LA Chargers lose. The Raiders could also drop to third place if they lose.
Here is how the bookmakers set the Chiefs-Raiders odds for Sunday night.
NFL Odds: Chiefs-Raiders Odds
Kansas City Chiefs: -2.5 (-118)
Las Vegas Raiders: +2.5 (-104)
Over: 52.5 (-106)
Under: 52.5 (-114)

Why The Chiefs Could Cover The Spread
The Chiefs are the favorite this week and shouldn't have a problem covering the spread on Sunday night. If the Chiefs were to win it would likely be by at least a field goal – covering this spread. Weirdly enough, Kansas City is only 2-7 against the spread this year. That is a clear sign to avoid betting on the Chiefs, but with the spread this low this week it isn't a bad idea to consider it.
The Chiefs are not playing well as of late. They struggled against the Packers which seems to be the theme of the season. Mahomes didn't throw an interception in the win which is a great sign. The Chiefs are going to cover this spread if Mahomes doesn't commit a turnover. This is a good time to get back into domination mode for the Chiefs as the Raiders continue to deal with distractions.
Why The Raiders Could Cover The Spread
The Raiders can cover this spread if they put all the distractions aside and focus on football. They lost to the New York Giants 23-16 last Sunday in what was an ugly game for Vegas. Derek Carr threw two interceptions and that allowed the Giants to sneak away with their third win of the season. The defense played well but the team as a whole didn't do enough to put them into a position to win. That will need to change this weekend as the Chiefs are looking to turn the tide themselves.
Las Vegas is 4-4 against the spread this year. Vegas is giving Vegas a real shot to win this game and predicts it to be close. I agree that it will be a close game. Despite everything that is going on with the Raiders, they still are a good football team looking to make a run for the playoffs. If they can force Mahomes to commit turnovers then this will be a nail-biter from start to finish.
Final Chiefs-Raiders Prediction & Pick
This is a tricky one to decide on because of what is going on with each team. It's tough to figure out if the Chiefs will finally get things going, or if the Raiders can ignore the distractions and get back to winning. This game will be played in Vegas and so I think that may be one of the deciding factors. Although, I'm taking Kansas City in what should be a close game. This game does not have the signs to be high-scoring, so I would consider the under for this matchup at 52.5 (-114). The Chiefs are more than capable of scoring 30+ points in any game, but they need to prove they can do it before betting on the over in this one.
FINAL CHIEFS-RAIDERS PREDICTION & PICK: Chiefs -2.5 (-118) & Under 52.5 (-114)
