The New England Patriots will face the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 11. It's time to continue our NFL odds series with a Patriots-Falcons prediction and pick.

The New England Patriots (to no surprise) are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now. They are playing great all-around football at this point in the season and look as if they can beat anyone who steps in front of them. The Pats are 6-4 and are on a four-game winning streak. They just demolished the Cleveland Browns 45-7 on Sunday and do not seem to be slowing down at all.

The Atlanta Falcons, on the other hand, are playing completely opposite football compared to the Patriots. The Falcons are fresh off a blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The 43-3 loss is the worst of the season for Atlanta, but not by much. They lost 32-6 in Week 1 to the Philadelphia Eagles. This team is 4-5 but could easily be worse. These teams could be trending in opposite directions at this point in the year.

Why The Patriots Could Cover The Spread

There doesn't seem to be anything that can stop the Patriots right now. Both sides of the ball are playing well and they are controlling all 60 minutes. The Browns couldn't do anything against the Patriots and it really showed. The Patriots can cover this spread by continuing to do what they have been doing. They are clearly well-coached and it shows because they are being put in positions to be successful more often than not.

The Falcons are on the opposite side of the spectrum right now even though they are just two wins apart. The Patriots shouldn't have a problem winning this game by at least a touchdown with the way they are playing. Mac Jones is by far the top rookie QB this season and will continue to complete passes. The run game is a group effort but nonetheless is getting the job done. The Pats' defense is dominant and can shut down any offense in the NFL. I expect the Pats to continue their winning streak and it reaches five straight.

Why The Falcons Could Cover The Spread

This isn't going to be an easy game for the Falcons to cover. They just got blown out by the Dallas Cowboys and it looked horrific. Matt Ryan threw multiple interceptions and it seemed like the effort wasn't there at all. This is a bad matchup for the Falcons because the Patriots' secondary is among the best in the NFL. This could be another multi-turnover game for Ryan who just isn't having a good season. The former league MVP will need to shock the world in a short week if he wants to cover this spread.

The Falcons' defense must step up and shut down the run. New England has formed a solid rotation between their backs and they are always fresh. It's going to be difficult to contain them. If the Falcons want to cover this spread the defense will need to play the best they have all season.

Final Patriots-Falcons Prediction & Pick

I expect the Patriots to stay hot and win this game by at least a touchdown. All signs are leaning toward another Patriots win and on a short week, it's going to be very tough for the Falcons to put up numbers. Ryan will likely commit costly turnovers and the Patriots will take advantage of it like usual. Based on how this last weekend ended, another blowout isn't out of the question.

Final Patriots-Falcons Prediction & Pick: Patriots -7 (-105)
