The Las Vegas Raiders take on the Cleveland Browns in an AFC matchup on Monday after being postponed from Saturday due to Covid issues for the Browns. It's time to continue our NFL odds series with a Raiders-Browns prediction and pick based on Raiders Browns odds.
This will be a crucial game for these two teams as both are in the hunt for a playoff spot. The Las Vegas Raiders are coming off of a horrible blowout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs 48-9. Not a single play worked for them early on and the Chiefs just ran away with it from the start. The Raiders are trending in the wrong direction right now and if they don't win this week, their playoff hopes could be over.

As for the Cleveland Browns, a win this week should move them up in the standings and put them possibly in the seventh seed. They are coming off of a huge win over the Baltimore Ravens. Lamar Jackson got hurt early on and the Browns took advantage as earned a crucial win. Their playoff hopes remain alive as they play in a very tough and competitive division. A win this week and a Ravens loss could put them atop the AFC North division. The Browns are however facing adversity this week with a Covid breakout.
Here is how FanDuel set the Raiders-Browns NFL odds for Monday's game.
NFL Odds: Raiders-Browns Odds
Las Vegas Raiders: +1 (-110)
Cleveland Browns: -1 (-110)
Over: 41.5 (-110)

Why The Raiders Could Cover The Spread
This will turn out to be a difficult game for the Raiders to cover. It's considered a short week so who knows if star tight end Darren Waller will suit up or not. If he does return, the Raiders' chances will go up because of how dominant he can be. He's missed the last few games with an injury and the Raiders' offense is slowing down because of it. The Raiders' main focus will be to slow down the Browns' run game. Nick Chubb is a force out there and Kareem Hunt is also a dominant backup running back. Although, Hunt will miss this game with an ankle injury he suffered against the Ravens.
Vegas will need to stop the run and find a way to get in the end zone against a very good Browns defense. Expect the Raiders to come out with a different game plan than normal because they need this win badly to keep their playoff chances alive. The defense will be missing some crucial players as well. Vegas is 5-8 against the spread this year.
Why The Browns Could Cover The Spread
This should have been a favorable game for the Browns to cover before the Covid issues. Nick Mullens is in for Case Keenum, who was in for Baker Mayfield. The latter two are out due to Covid protocols. Head coach Kevin Stefanski is also out for this game due to Covid. The Browns will lean on Nick Chubb and their running game in this one, and to be fair that may still be more than enough to cover and win vs. the Raiders. Las Vegas is facing several injuries as well so Cleveland could still be in good shape.
The Browns are 5-8 against the spread and 5-2 at home this season.
Final Raiders-Browns Prediction & Pick
I'm taking the Browns to cover and win at home. I don't think the Raiders will do much offensively because of how poorly they played against the Chiefs. The Browns defense is better so it could be another miserable week for Vegas. I would also hold off on the over/under because it's a difficult one to get a crack on.
Final Raiders-Browns Prediction & Pick: Browns -1 (-110)
