The Seattle Seahawks and Washington Football Team play in an NFC battle on Monday night. It's time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Seahawks-Washington prediction and pick.
The Seahawks and Washington Football Team will play on Monday in a crucial matchup for each side. Both teams are at risk of slipping out a playoff contention with another loss, as the 3-7 Seahawks and 4-6 Washington will look to inch back toward contention with a victory.
Russell Wilson hasn't hit his stride quite yet after returning from a thumb injury, as the Seahawks' offense sputtered in back-to-back losses since his return. The Seahawks scored just 13 points across losses to the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals since Wilson's return. Washington comes in as slight favorites over the Seahawks for this Monday night matchup.

Why The Seahawks Can Cover The Spread
Seattle has really struggled of late, losing five of the last six games. The Seahawks will be desperate for a win on Monday night, but it will be an uphill battle as they are still without running back Chris Carson. Seattle has rushed for just 98 yards per game this season as Carson has missed the bulk of the action.
The lack of a run game will continue to put a lot of pressure on Russell Wilson to make plays. Wilson's thumb that sidelined him for three weeks may still not be 100% as he hasn't looked quite right since returning. Wilson has thrown for just 368 yards, 0 touchdowns and two interceptions in two games since he returning. With no run game to speak of, the Seahawks will obviously need more from their passing game in order to pull out a win. Washington is solid vs. the run on defense, so this may be an uphill battle toward a win or a cover with such a slim spread.
This, however, may be a chance for Wilson to get the passing game going, as Washington allows 280 passing yards per game this season. They also lost pass rusher Chase Young for the season with a torn ACL a couple weeks ago.
Why Washington Can Cover The Spread
There is nothing spectacular about the Washington Football Team, but they seem to remain competitive a decent chunk of the time. They come into Monday's action winners of two straight.
Taylor Heinicke has a bit of magic to him, as he's not consistent but often makes enough plays to keep Washington in a given game. Heinicke will look to take advantage of a Seahawks pass defense that allows 291 passing yards per game.
They will also hope their stout run defense, which allows just 98 yards per game, can make the Seattle offense one-dimensional. This could help the Washington pass defense get on track.
Washington comes in as a decent play in this game as just slight favorites on their home field on Monday evening. If Washington can take care of the ball, their defense should keep them right in this game vs. a struggling Seattle offense.
Final Seahawks-Washington Prediction & Pick
Take Washington to cover and win at home vs. a Seattle group that has yet to find its footing this season.
