Some people believe that the New England Patriots are front-runners to re-sign Tom Brady, but that may not be the case. Nearly a month before free agency, an ESPN inside ranked two teams ahead of the Patriots in the Brady sweepstakes.
Jeff Darlington, an NFL insider on ESPN, recently made an appearance on “The Adam Schefter Podcast”. Naturally, as NFL analysts, both he and Schefter sparked a conversation pertaining to the Patriots quarterback.
While listing the odds that he would personally give to teams, he listed the Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders as the most likely landing spots. Following the Raiders and Titans, the Patriots were his third-most likely team to sign Brady this offseason.
As Darlington alluded to, most people have Tom Brady returning to New England. The reason why he is at the top of the majority of people's list is due to it being tough to envision in a different uniform. But there's a reason why everyone is speaking about his impending free agency; there's actually a chance he leaves.
In his 20 seasons with the Patriots, Brady has constantly signed extensions and remained in Foxborough. However, this time around, Brady seems prepared to test free agency for the first time in his career.
Not too long ago, it was reported that the Raiders could offer Brady a two-year, $60 million contract once free agency begins. On the other hand, Brady was a former teammate of Mike Vrabel —the head coach of the Titans.
Without a doubt, Tom Brady's decision is the most captivating storyline of the NFL offseason. Even though he's spent two decades with the Patriots, he could be headed elsewhere in 2020.
