Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has not been in town very long. However, it appears he has already made quite the impression on outside linebacker Chandler Jones.

The Cardinals went all in on taking Murray with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. According to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss, Jones feels he has already started to prove his status:

“Kyler’s confident, and he’s not a cocky player,” Jones said, “For him to be the first overall pick, he’s a very confident player. He’s composed. I can see him construct, I see him getting guys together in the huddle, and as a young guy, that’s something that I admire about him. He’s good at grabbing guys’ attention. I’m not sure how tall he is, but I see his little helmet and I see a little helmet in the huddle. He’s grabbing guys. I’m just, it’s impressive. He’s an impressive player.”

It is encouraging to see that Murray is already starting to make his presence felt in Arizona. Jones has certainly been around his fair share of quarterback talent over the years. Aside from sacking them consistently, he got a good look at what a franchise quarterback is supposed to look like when he began his career with the New England Patriots. His praise is just the latest example of glowing reports from teammates following OTAs and mandatory minicamp. It is safe to say that the rookie has taken a positive step in earning their trust moving forward.

There is no shortage of hype surrounding Murray going into the 2019 NFL season. Many are hoping that he can lead a potential resurgence under new head coach Kliff Kingsbury's offense. He will have an immediate opportunity to justify his status as the No. 1 pick in the draft.
