Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Chandler Jones is feeling very giving this holiday season.
“Cardinals’ DE Chandler Jones is donating $20,000 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital for every sack he has in each of the team’s remaining two games. Let’s hope Jones has multi-sack games.”
Per Jones via an official team statement:
“We are going through a tough stretch right now but we all know there are people who are dealing with much tougher situations. I’m happy to do this and it will give me even more incentive to finish the season strong.”
Jones is known as one of the most feared and best pass rushers in the NFL. His ability to get to the quarterback quickly and to disrupt his drops is uncanny. He almost always causes pressure and is double teamed every week, leaving opportunities for the rest of his defensive line to get one on one matchups with other linemen. He's a gamechanger for the Cardinals defense.
His versatility as a rusher is on display every Sunday as well. He was known for in college for being able to play nose tackle, outside linebacker, defensive end, inside linebacker, etc. Wherever Syracuse had him line-up, Jones was an effective pass rusher.
For the Cardinals, this season Jones has collected 12 sacks through the 14 games the team has played. With 12 sacks, only seven NFL pass rushers have more sacks, Last year, Jones led the entire league in sacks with 17. In the six years he's been in the league, before with the New England Patriots, Jones has proven himself to be one of the best defensive players in the entire NFL.
