The Ariona Cardinals have certainly had an interesting NFL offseason. First, star quarterback Kyler Murray erased anything team-related off of his social media pages amid stalled contract talks with the organization, then released an ultimatum of sorts through his agent, essentially calling the franchise to action on his extension. There is no contract offer on the table right now, prompting many to speculate about a potential Murray trade. Such speculation only intensified following Murray's latest decision to skip the team's voluntary NFL offseason workout. Cardinals star defensive end J.J. Watt addressed Murray's absence from the workouts, per Tyler Dragon of USA Today.
J.J. Watt said he doesn't mind Kyler Murray's absence at voluntary workouts: "All I need him to be there for is the first game of the season." #Cardinals

Per Dragon, Watt said that he “doesn't mind” Murray's absence from the NFL offseason workouts. The Cardinals star defender said that “all he needs” from Murray is to be ready and available for the first game of the season.
Of course, it's not completely surprising that Murray isn't there, as the star quarterback had reportedly informed the team of this plan for several weeks. Perhaps that's why Watt isn't concerned in the slightest about his quarterback's absence.
For now, Watt and the rest of the Cardinals will stand behind Murray. However, if these contract talks and drama stretch through the entire NFL offseason and into training camp, then Watt might not be so forgiving.
