The week offers a new set of disappointments as the Arizona Cardinals failed to stifle the Los Angeles Rams for the W. While some are calling for defensive coordinator Vance Joseph to walk the plank, head coach Kliff Kingsbury thinks that he should be given a little more leeway.

ESPN's Josh Weinfuss asked whether his DC will pay for the defensive lapses highlighted during their crushing loss to the Rams. He responded that he still believes in Joseph's abilities to lead the team to greater heights and explained why he trusts his take.

“I see every day at practice, I watch the tape, & see what's going on and how it's supposed to be played and our focus right now is to get better in all three phases and that's what we're trying to do,” the Cardinals head coach said.

Understandably, a gallery of the team's fans isn't buying into what was Kingsbury was selling them.

Against the Rams, the Cardinals defense made a struggling quarterback in Jared Goff look more than just competent; he had his best game of the season. Thanks to their inefficient defensive schemes, he was able to notch a superb 424 passing yards and two touchdowns in the process. It became a pick-me-up game for the pass-caller and the rest of the struggling Rams.

The Cardinals will have to rebuild the defense in the offseason, but the front office may have to consider transforming the coaching staff as well. If that does happen, Joseph may be the first man on the chopping block.
