Maxx Williams may not be a household name, but he is the newest member of the Arizona Cardinals. At one point a second round pick by the Baltimore Ravens, Williams has had a rough start to his NFL career. Whether it be injuries or other talented tight ends holding him back, Williams is ready for a fresh start.

According to a tweet from Williams himself, the talented tight end is leaving Baltimore to sign with the Cardinals.

Last season with the Ravens, Williams ended up playing in 13 games and caught 63 passes for 497 yards and three touchdowns. His numbers show why the Cardinals and their fans should be excited about this signing. The potential that he has yet to unlock is another reason for excitement.

Standing in at 6-foot-4, Williams will offer rookie quarterback Kyler Murray a big target to work with. He may not be the most heralded free agency signing, but he could end up being a major steal.

At just 25 years old, the future is still bright for the former Minnesota standout. He is entering a new situation with an offensive guru in head coach Kliff Kingsbury. That should be a recipe for success.

It will be interesting to see how Williams fits into the offense. Arizona also has Charles Clay at tight end, which will make for an intriguing training camp and preseason battle between him and Williams. Both tight ends bring different skill-sets to the field and could compliment each other well.

Arizona went 3-13 last season and are hoping to turn things around in 2019. Williams is on board and can't wait to get things started with his new team.
