In just his second season in the NFL, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is becoming a legitimate contender for NFL MVP honors. His Hail Mary pass to wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins against the Buffalo Bills was indicative of his ability to deliver when the game on the line.

Despite the success that he is having in football's grandest stage, Murray still can't help but think about the other sport that he excelled in: baseball.

“I know where I'm supposed to be at,” he told CBS Sports radio program “Tiki and Tierney” on Monday. “If I would have chose baseball, I think I would be missing the hell out of football a lot more. For me, I wish I could do both.”

“You could!” host Brandon Tierney said, in reference to former NFL-MLB hybrid Deion Sanders.

“I definitely feel like I could,” Murray replied. “I never say never. As of right now, man, I'm having fun doing what I love.”

The Texas native used to be a multi-sport athlete growing up, having played football, baseball, and basketball. He eventually took both football and baseball more seriously as he intended to play for Texas A&M back in 2015 before transferring to the University of Oklahoma.

He played the quarterback position in the gridiron while also moonlighting as an outfielder for the Sooners in the collegiate ranks. Murray went on to be selected with the ninth overall pick by the Oakland Athletics in the 2018 MLB Draft which still holds his rights.

Kyler Murray won't be the first to accomplish the feat of starring in two professional leagues as notable legends in Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson both previously juggled playing in the MLB and the NFL.

With the Cardinals seeing a rebirth in the 2020 season with a 6-3 record thus far, Kyler Murray should be keen on garnering success and continuing with his path in football. However, making an appearance as a professional baseball player still won't be completely ruled out of the picture, at least according to him.
