There have been multiple teams in the NFL yearning for stability at their kicker position. Could some teams take a look at women to provide them help at kicker? Women's soccer star Carli Lloyd believes it should become a reality.
“I know that I could actually probably do it,” the 37-year-old Lloyd said. “Put on the helmet, strap on the pads, go for it. The mindset I have, I think with practice, I know I have to work on my steps and my technique, but I think I could do it and do it well.
“It could be a huge pivotal moment. There is no reason why a woman could not do this. And I actually invite the pressure. I love the pressure. When I have to nail something—shooting hoops, ax-throwing, kicking a field goal—that is the moment I live for and want. It comes down to the mind, training the mind.
Earlier last week, Lloyd attended a Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles joint practice and used her strong leg to hit a 55-yard field goal. The U.S Women's Soccer player actually did receive some inquiries after the video of the field goal surfaced.

After watching Lloyd nail the long-distance field goal, it should come as no surprise that there were teams who showed interest. However, Lloyd is still focused on playing soccer for the time being.
Lloyd has won two straight World Cups with the U.S Women's National Team and has accumulated 114 scored goals in her time with the national team.
At 37-years old, Lloyd may be interested in kicking in the NFL down the road but for now; teams will need to wait patiently.
