The Joe Flacco era may finally be coming to an end in Baltimore. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Ravens are expected to move on from their quarterback this offseason.
“Look at Flacco's future, he's 33 years old, he's set to make $18.5 million dollars next year,” said Rapoport. “The Ravens are expected to move on from him this offseason. They'll incur $16 million of dead money, but, of course, they're not going to bring him back as a backup making $16 million. All of which is to say if Flacco decides he wants to continue playing, he's actually going to be a fairly coveted free agent this offseason. Rarely do starting quarterbacks become available, and Joe Flacco absolutely is.”
The Ravens seem to be electing to roll with Lamar Jackson as their quarterback moving forward. Jackson took over as the team's starting signal-caller after Flacco suffered a hip injury back on Nov. 4, and with Flacco aging and Baltimore needing a change, handing the ball to Jackson seems like the right idea at this point.
That's not to say that Flacco is completely washed up.

Flacco is also known for stepping his game up in the playoffs, particularly during the 2012-13 campaign when he led the Ravens to a Super Bowl. That postseason, Flacco threw for 1,140 yards, 11 touchdowns, no interceptions and tallied a passer rating of 117.2.
