One of the biggest decisions the Baltimore Ravens have this offseason is deciding what to do with defensive stud C.J. Mosley, and according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, the two sides have had contract discussions. Mosley made $8,718,000 last year with the Ravens and is now an unrestricted free agent.
According to sources, the Ravens and Mosley’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, have had recent contract talks for the linebacker. The hope is to get a deal done before the market opens in March. Applying the franchise tag on Mosley and paying him north of $15 million would be a significant hit, but it would push the decision down the road and give the Ravens another year to groom a potential replacement.
There was some hope before the season that a contract extension could be agreed upon, but the two sides were too far apart and there were questions if Mosley would miss some of training camp or games. He decided to not hold out and waited until this offseason to figure out the contract extension.
