As good as Ed Reed's Hall of Fame speech was, there was a noticeable slip-up during it. The former Baltimore Ravens safety thanked the wrong coach while showing some love to his former coaches.

During the speech, Ed Reed accidentally thanked Bill Belichick instead of Brian Billick. As everyone knows, Belichick is the long-time head coach of the New England Patriots—not the Ravens.

Mixing up Belichick and Billick can be an easy mix-up and that's likely what happened. Emotions are running high and Reed admitted that he just wrote some of his speech while he was sitting down, waiting for his turn at the podium.

As for Billick, he coached Reed from 2002-2007 while Belichick was public enemy number one. Reed has pointed out before that playing against Tom Brady and Belichick made him a better player.

On the other hand, Reed could have been thanking Belichick for this reason but leaving out Billick in his acceptance speech is unlikely. At least Reed took the time to thank John Harbaugh—who coached Reed in 2012 when the Ravens won the Super Bowl.

Nevertheless, the slip-up still didn't ruin what was an all-time speech by the former Ravens safety. Uniquely, Reed even thanked his barbers during his acceptance speech. For this reason, Reed's Hall of Fame speech will always be remembered.

All things considered, there could have been worse mistakes made by Reed in his acceptance speech. Despite the noticeable mistake, Reed didn't have a care in the world as he gave his speech with a cigar in his coat pocket.
