Joe Horn Jr. wants to follow in his father's footsteps. The Baltimore Ravens could help him achieve that lofty goal.

According to ESPN Baltimore Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley, Horn is competing for a roster spot at wide receiver, the same position his father played in the NFL.

The 5'10”, 185-lb. Horn caught 15 passes for 246 yards for the Division II  Missouri Western Griffons during the 2018 NCAA season.

Horn's status with the Ravens remains uncertain due to his size. Plus, Baltimore drafted top-notch wide receivers Marquise Brown and Miles Boykin last month, per Hensley.

Nonetheless, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told ESPN he liked Horn's potential at the conclusion of practice on May 4.

Joe Horn, Jr. looked really good. I guess the thing that struck me about him was he looked like Joe Horn.

His son looks like him — quick, fast, really good hands, in and out of breaks. You can tell he's worked with his dad a lot on technique. I just thought he looked excellent.

Ravens wide receivers coach David Culley also sung Horn's praises. He told Hensley the older Horn would be proud of his son on how he ran a comeback route to the sideline during practice.

Horn is the latest Ravens tryout player who has a unique football connection. The previous two were Jerry Rice, Jr. and Mike Flacco (brother of former Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco), per ESPN.

It's unlikely his son will make waves in the NFL like he did. Nonetheless, Joe Horn, Jr. carries a name which made an impact on the gridiron for years.
