The NFL continues to navigate through uncharted waters heading into the 2020 season due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Although the restrictions have largely robbed players on the roster bubble of a chance to prove themselves, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh sees a silver lining for them.

According to Jamison Hensley of ESPN, Harbaugh feels practice players will likely get an opportunity to see the field given the circumstances of the upcoming season:

“You have to assume they’re going to play any given week,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said.

While Harbaugh's comments would have been seen as false hope in yer's past, that is hardly the case with the NFL playing through an ongoing pandemic. The league has already taken precautions to allow teams more flexibility with their rosters such as expanded practice squads and the ability to move two players between the active roster without having to clear waivers.

John Harbaugh could be spurred to assemble the roster on a weekly basis depending on which positions the Ravens need more depth at. Since there is no telling how this year will pan out with injuries and potential illness playing a factor, it is imperative that every player in the building is ready to go on any given Sunday.

Expectations remain as high as ever for the Ravens heading into the 2020 campaign coming off another early playoff exit. Harbaugh is making sure everyone prepares to play a role in helping their Super Bowl aspirations come to fruition. They will certainly have their work cut out with star-studded matchups against the Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, and Kansas City Chiefs to open the season.
