Baltimore Ravens running back Mark Ingram turns 30 years old on Saturday, but in spite of the fact that his age is starting to climb, he is in the midst of one of the most productive seasons of his career.
That's why Ingram has a strong message for all of those who think he may begin to decline:
“People say when you're 30, it's like you're dead or something,” said Ingram, via the team's official website. “But I think my best football is still ahead of me.”
While I'm not sure Ingram's “best” football is still ahead of him, it's hard to argue with his results in 2019.
Through 14 games this season, Ingram has rushed for 963 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging a robust five yards per carry. In addition, he has logged 24 catches for 211 yards and four scores, earning him a Pro Bowl selection.

The Hackensack, N.J. native, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was originally selected by the Saints in the first round (28th pick overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Ingram got off to a relatively slow start, totaling 474, 602 and 385 rushing yards, respectively, over the course of his first three seasons, but he broke out in 2014, registering 964 yards while reaching the end zone nine times, en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance.
Ingram then posted back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns in 2016 and 2017, making his second Pro Bowl in the latter year after finishing with 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns.
