The Baltimore Ravens opened training camp on Thursday without their first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The good news? It apparently won't be long until Marquise Brown is able to take the field with his teammates.

According to ESPN's Jamison Hensley, Brown, who passed his conditioning test on Wednesday, could be cleared by team doctors soon, allowing him to practice in full as early as next week.

It's hardly a surprise that Brown wasn't able to participate at the start of training camp. The Ravens placed him on the non-football injury list last week amid the final stages of his recovery from offseason foot surgery, ensuring that he'd be unavailable.

Baltimore selected the Oklahoma product with the No. 25 overall pick of the NFL Draft. He had 75 catches for 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns for Oklahoma last season, emerging as the best big-play threat in college football.

Brown, the cousin of Oakland Raiders superstar Antonio Brown, suffered a dreaded Lisfranc injury to his right foot in the Big XII championship game, undergoing surgery in February. He was unable to participate in the NFL Draft combine and the Sooners’ Pro Day as a result, but boasted he would have broken the record for the 40-yard dash, 4.22 seconds, held by the Cincinnati Bengals’ John Ross.

Obviously, Brown's acclimation to the NFL would be best served by him being available to participate in all training camp activities. Considering the nature of his injury, though, that he's poised to miss less than a week of practice is certainly a good sign for both his health and ability to contribute as a rookie.
