Lamar Jackson is making moves. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback just filed a couple of trademarks for a play he's making off the field
Jackson filed a trademark for the 3-word phrase and play on his number “You 8 yet?” On paper, it seems like a puzzling move by the Ravens star. But it's actually meant for a restaurant that he's opening.
BREAKING: Lamar Jackson has filed a trademark application for:

The application indicates that @Lj_era8 will open a restaurant under that name, per @JoshGerben. pic.twitter.com/KMBfhRAVsj

The report from the Boardroom, however, seems to get the specifics wrong. While “You 8 yet?” being the name of a restaurant seems sort of funny and potentially silly enough to entice people to “8” there (Sorry, I had to.), that's actually just going to be the slogan of the restaurant.
The Ravens QB filed two trademarks, according to trademark lawyer Josh Gerben. One being for “You 8 yet?” and another for a most restaurant-sounding name “Play Action Soulfood And More”.

Ravens fans can already picture driving along a winding road and seeing a cozy little establishment featuring a massive Lamar Jackson sign outside of it seen a mile back on the highway. A little speech bubble protruding from its side saying “You 8 yet?”
How can you not pop in for a quick plate as a Baltimore Ravens fan, right?
Lamar Jackson recently had a stint serving some grub at an undermanned Chick-fil-A, which may have inspired him to get into the food industry. Hopefully, his meals are as delectable as his touchdown passes and his serving time as swift as his ability to evade tackles.
