The Chicago Bears are a team desperately trying to bounce back after a few years of forgettable seasons. The team may have taken a step in the right direction last season with the addition of rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Although Trubisky had his struggles during his rookie campaign with only five wins in 2017, the future appears to be bright with many singing his praises in Chicago.

Along with Trubisky, running back Jordan Howard has made quite an impression. Howard and Trubisky could become a dynamic duo in Chicago along with newcomer Allen Robinson downfield. The talented back recently talked about his quarterback and how he's something different in him this year, via Bears senior writer Barry Mayer.

“He asserted himself a lot last year, but I definitely feel like a lot more people are listening to him,” said running back Jordan Howard. “He has a lot greater command of the locker room and stuff because he's the quarterback for sure now.”

This is a great sign for the Bears as they gear up for the 2018 NFL season. The primary goal for any team in building a legitimate playoff contender in the NFL is securing the quarterback position, and Trubisky could end up being the right man for the job under center in Chicago.

However, the competition in the NFC North division is as tough as ever. The Green Bay Packers will have Aaron Rodgers back healthy along with the addition of tight end Jimmy Graham. The Minnesota Vikings landed arguably the most notable free agent available this offseason in quarterback Kirk Cousins while also possessing one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Detroit Lions are always a threat with Matthew Stafford under center.

In his rookie season, Trubisky threw for 2,130 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 12 games played.
