Marquette King’s list of potential new teams is growing. The former Oakland Raiders punter drew some interest from the Minnesota Vikings shortly after his release. And now, it seems like the Denver Broncos could also be another destination for King, who apparently wouldn't mind going to the Mile High City.

“Marquette would love an opportunity to come visit there,’’ Wynn Silberman, King’s agent, told Mike Klis of 9NEWS. “Obviously, Denver is a punter's dream. They're high on his list.”

King, 29, has been among the best punters in the league over the last couple years. He was third in the NFL with a 42.7-yard net and second in 2016 with a 48.6-yard gross average. He's also among the highest profile punters in recent memory due to his outsized personality, which has led to him picking up some controversial penalties.

However, new Raiders coach Jon Gruden apparently wasn’t a fan of King and his personality, which factored into why he was surprisingly released last week.

The Broncos currently have a talented young punter on the roster in Riley Dixon. Although, the former seventh-rounder didn’t quite perform nearly as well last year as he did in his rookie season. After finishing ninth in net punting in 2016, he dropped all the way to 22nd last season.

Salary could end up being a factor in Denver’s inevitable decision. King was one of the highest-paid punters in the league prior to his release with the Raiders at nearly $3 million. Meanwhile, Dixon is set to make just $630,000 in 2018.

But if the Broncos are bent on improving their special teams, there likely isn’t a better punter King currently on the market besides King.
