The Buffalo Bills are trading wide receiver Zay Jones to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a 2021 fifth-round pick, according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN.
A second-round pick in 2017, Jones bounced back in 2018 from an abysmal rookie year. In 16 games (15 starts), Jones brought in 56 receptions for 652 yards and seven touchdowns. However, his role dwindled with the team to start in 2019. Through the first five games of the season — in which he started twice — the wide-out hauled in seven receptions for 69 yards.
In Week 5, Jones saw his role with the team complete diminish, as they brought in former CFL standout Duke Williams. Williams caught the go-ahead touchdown to win over the Tennessee Titans, while Jones played one snap. After the game, Bills coach acknowledged Jones' lack of snaps and lauded his team-first approach.

He’s still young in his career. He’ll continue to do a good job as he continues to grow, and focus on what he can control. I appreciate his team-first approach yesterday.”
The Raiders, on the other hand, get a third-year wide receiver that was touted as a first-round talent recently. Though he lost his role with the Bills, he should see one in Oakland. The Raiders have long been searching for a receiver to compliment Tyrell Williams — after the Antonio Browns fiasco. Jones can do just that, as a big slot receiver that can work the middle of the field.
