American singer-songwriter Tremaine Neverson or more famously known as ‘Trey Songz' was out to enjoy the AFC Championship Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night. However, he didn't get to see the Chiefs' celebration as he was reportedly arrested for engaging in a physical altercation with a cop midway through the tilt, via TMZ Sports.

The 36-year-old rapper dealt a punch to the head of the officer and even attempted to get him in a headlock. However, the cop fought back and pinned Neverson on a seat.

Some accounts made by witnesses claimed that the exchange happened when a few fans were heckling Neverson during the game. According to TMZ, the officer immediately went after the rapper without prior warning and that Neverson only wanted to defend himself from the sudden attack.

After seeing the entire commotion transpire in front of their eyes, fans were reportedly calling for the officer to be arrested. The other cops eventually came to the scene and separated the two individuals.

Neverson was put in handcuffs and was escorted away from the arena. He is currently being held in custody but it remains to be seen if he will be charged for any cases or he will simply be detained.

As of the moment, the reasons for his arrest include trespassing, resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer which is identified as a low-grade felony. He was reported to be on a 24-hour hold and will most likely be released on Monday night.
