After sitting out the first nine weeks of the 2021-22 NFL season unsigned, Cam Newton has agreed to return to the Carolina Panthers on a 1 year, $10 million deal. With a major injury to Sam Darnold, the Panthers knew they were going to need a reliable veteran at the quarterback spot. Luckily for them, their former first overall draft pick was ready and available to come in and provide them with some much-needed relief under center. Here, we go over our top Cam Newton predictions.
With Newton now returning to where he began his playing career, this is a bitter-sweet reunion for the Panthers as they were exhausted of all other options. Granted, Newton is a former NFL MVP and was previously in the top tier of dual-threat quarterbacks in the league. However, his toxic behavior and disruptive locker room presence hasn't done him any favors over the past few seasons.
If he wants to have a smoother go of it in his second tenure with the Panthers, then he'll have to exert all his energy and focus into finding ways to be an asset to the team as they look to climb their way out of last place in the NFC South. Given everything the Panthers have endured this season, they'll need Cam Newton to bring his A-game and help them finish out this season on a high note. As they look to shake off the dust and get back to their winning ways, we now look at two bold Cam Newton predictions for his return to the Panthers.

2. The Panthers will run a more efficient offense with Cam Newton at QB
Despite their 3-0 start to the season with Sam Darnold under center for them, the Panthers have regressed offensively over their past six games and haven't looked as efficient on that side of the ball. Even though Newton isn't set to see any playing time until Week 11, he'll still prove to be a major difference-maker for Carolina this season.
There may be a new coach at the helm and Carolina may be running a different offensive scheme, but Newton's familiarity with Matt Rhule and Christian McCaffrey could be a huge benefit for them. Plus, people seem to have forgotten that Carolina is the place where he won the 2015 NFL MVP and led this same Panthers franchise to the Super Bowl.
As the Panthers starting quarterback, Cam Newton will undoubtedly deliver for this team and revive his clutch playmaking from a few seasons ago. With a receiving corps of DJ Moore, Robby Anderson, Willie Snead, and the running back duo of McCaffrey and Chuba Hubbard, Newton will be able to move the ball around with ease and properly utilize this multi-skilled Panthers offense to perfection.
1. Cam Newton will lead Carolina back to the postseason
As the Panthers franchise leader in passing yards and one of the best mobile quarterback's the game's ever seen, Newton will without question inject new life into their offense and get them back into the thick of the NFC playoff race. Currently sitting at the bottom of the NFC South, the Panthers most certainly have their work cut for them, but the addition of Newton definitely changes the equation for them and gives the Panthers a fighting chance to climb their way back to the upper half of the division.
In their relentless pursuit to right the ship and get back into playoff contention, the signing of Newton is definitely more of a high reward than a high-risk move. His familiarity with the organization is just an added bonus for Carolina. With Newton under center for the Panthers once again, it's safe to assume that they can nab a wild card spot and make the playoffs this season.
