Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has been dealing with a major shoulder injury all offseason long and there were concerns that he may not be able to throw before training camp. Thankfully, that concern can now be put away.

According to a report shared by Pro Football Talk, Newton has begun throwing a full-size football overhanded.

Newton has started throwing overhand with a regulation football, Jourdan Rodrigue of the Charlotte Observer reports.

Last season with the Panthers, Newton ended up completing 67.9 percent of his pass attempts for 3,395 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. He also compiled 488 yards on the ground to go along with four touchdowns. Carolina wanted more from him, but he is still capable of turning things around.

At 30 years old, Newton's injury issues are certainly a concern to keep an eye on. The team even went out and drafted West Virginia quarterback Will Grier in the 2019 NFL Draft. It was a move that made some scratch their heads, but this issue makes it make more sense.

The Panthers are hoping to get back into playoff contention this season after missing the postseason in 2018. In order to do so, however, Newton will need to return to form. His numbers from last season simply are not going to get the job done.

It will be interesting to see how he looks early on this season. Newton hasn't been able to practice or work out most of the offseason, which could make an impact.

Hopefully, Newton will be able to catch up on his throwing and get back to 100 percent by the start of the season.
