The Carolina Panthers are coming off their most dominant win of the season, putting up a dominant 45-21 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football. The offense was clicking on all cylinders as quarterback Cam Newton torched the formidable Dolphins defense with four touchdowns and over 90 yards rushing.
Carolina received more good news on Tuesday, as head coach Ron Rivera said that veteran tight end Greg Olsen is expected to make his return in Week 12 versus the New York Jets, per Steve Reed of The Associated Press:
Ron Rivera said Greg Olsen is progressing very well and the plan is still for him to return for the Jets game. That could change, but Rivera likes where he is at. Said it's pretty exciting to get him back.

The return of Olsen is perfect timing for the Panthers as they enter their bye week. The veteran tight end has been on the IR since sustaining a fractured foot in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers.
Prior to his injury, Olsen served as Newton's favorite target since the two joined the organization together before the 2011 NFL season. Although the offense looked as good as ever in last night's win over the Dolphins, they have largely fluctuated throughout the entire year while relying on their young talent to make plays, and there's a fear rookie WR Curtis Samuel could be out for the rest of the season.
The former Miami Hurricane is regarded as one of the league's premier pass-catching tight ends, having registered three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons before this year. Needless to say, Olsen's return brings some much-needed stability to their receiving core.
