If the Chicago Bears want to eventually pay wide receiver Allen Robinson, it's likely going to cost them WR Anthony Miller.

Miller — a solid slot receiver — is in the final year of his rookie deal. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bears are gauging interest in the 26-year old, and they are likely to find a deal.

Evidently, Chicago knows Miller's in line for a significant raise after this season, and they're looking to retain value for him now and free up that money.

Miller has started 17 games for Chicago since being drafted in the second round in 2018. Overall, he's accused 134 receptions for 1,564 yards in 47 appearances. He scored seven touchdowns as a rookie.

This past season, the wideout posted 49 catches for 485 yards and two TDs.

The Bears placed the franchise tag on Robinson earlier this week, as the two sides remain far apart at the negotiating table. The 27-year old star wideout reportedly wants to be the second-highest-paid WR in the league, after DeAndre Hopkins (roughly $25 million AAV).

Robinson reportedly has no intention of signing the tag and is willing to hold out for his money or a trade.

“Allen Robinson, I’m told has zero plans to sign his franchise tag in the immediate future,” ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said on SportsCenter this past Sunday. “So considering their contract negotiations in the fall did not go well, this could drag out a long while where Robinson doesn’t show up, doesn’t sign that tag. Because when they talked in the past, the Bears made clear they have no plans to give him that top dollar at wide receiver. you know, that $20 million range that the best players now get.”

It's fair to speculate if the Bears' desire to deal Miller signals a willingness to up their offer to Robinson. Stay tuned. Surely, this won't get ugly.
