The 5-4 Chicago Bears will host the 3-5 Minnesota Vikings in Week 10 at Soldier Field on Monday Night Football.
The Bears, after starting the season at 5-1, have lost three straight games to the Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans. General manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy are on the hot seat from fans since the team is playing terribly on offense.
The Vikings, meanwhile, are on a two-game winning streak. They are coming off wins over the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions thanks to the stellar running of Dalvin Cook.
With the Bears-Vikings game almost here, let's take a look at four bold predictions for the contest from a Chicago point of view.
1. Nick Foles throws two touchdowns, one interception
Nick Foles took over for Mitchell Trubisky in the second half of the Atlanta Falcons game in Week 3. While he led the Bears to a comeback win over the Falcons, Foles has gone just 2-4 as the starter. He's thrown 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 65.6 percent of his passes.
Week 9 against the Titans was the first game this season Foles didn't turn the ball over. The Bears, though, were awful on offense versus Tennessee due to their putrid offensive line which is the worst in the NFL. David Montgomery fumbled the ball and the Titans took it back to the house for six points.
Even though Foles himself didn't turn the ball over, the Bears have had a turnover in every game since Foles came in for Trubisky.
Against the Vikings, we have Foles throwing for two touchdowns and one interception. He will likely get sacked a few times since the Vikings have an aggressive defense and Chicago's offensive line can't block anyone.
2. Bears give up 100 yards on the ground to Dalvin Cook
Cook is the hottest running back in the NFL right now. He ran for 163 yards in Week 8 against the Packers and followed that up with 206 in Week 9 versus the Lions.
While the Bears are ranked 14th in the NFL on defense in rushing yards allowed, the Vikings are third in the league in rushing yards per game, so we can see Cook running for over 100 yards in Week 10 against Chicago.
Article Continues BelowThe Bears have a great defense led by Khalil Mack, Akiem Hicks and Eddie Jackson, but they are usually on the field too much because of Chicago's terrible offense and get tired at times. With that being said, look for the Vikings to try and run it down the Bears' throats with Cook, who has 858 rushing yards on the season and 12 touchdowns.
3. Bears pick off Kirk Cousins two times
Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has 10 interceptions on the season and usually doesn't play well on Monday Night Football. What's more is that in five career games against the Bears, Cousins has thrown three interceptions and only five touchdowns.
With that being said, we have Chicago's defense picking off Cousins two times in Week 10. Although he hasn't thrown an interception since Week 6, Cousins has yet to face an elite defense like the Bears, who are hungry to get back in the win column after losing three games in a row and falling out of the playoff picture in the NFC.
Since the Bears' offense can't score points, Chicago's defense may have to turn back the clock to 2018 and score some touchdowns on their own. Cousins has been a turnover machine both in Washington and Minnesota, so don't be surprised if he makes some critical errors versus the Bears' stout defense.
4. Bears defeat Vikings to improve to 6-4
Chicago has won its last four games against the Vikings. Since taking the Bears' head-coaching job in 2018, Nagy hasn't lost to Minnesota.
With that being said, we have the Bears defeating the Vikings in Week 10 to snap their three-game losing streak heading into the bye week. For whatever reason, Chicago has Minnesota's number lately and we expect that to continue in Week 10 on Monday Night Football.
The Bears' offense may still look awful but look for the defense to force multiple turnovers and set up Foles with good field position. Cairo Santos has been really good kicking the ball this season for Chicago, so the Bears could win this game because of him since their offense can't seem to do anything right.
It appears the Packers, who are 6-2 and playing really well behind Aaron Rodgers, are going to win the NFC North. If Chicago wants to make the playoffs after missing it in 2019, the team will likely have to clinch a Wild Card spot unless the Packers go on some type of free fall.
