Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been dazzling audiences with spectacular plays throughout the 2018 NFL season. Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich has taken notice.

And Reich, as a former quarterback, adds: “I don’t throw that term out often.”
This is certainly high praise from Reich. His comments carry plenty of weight considering he has already coached some of the most talented quarterbacks in the league in Carson Wentz and Andrew Luck. It is clear that their arm talent may pale in comparison to Mahomes.
Reich's admiration for Mahomes is understandable. The second-year quarterback has taken the league by storm thanks to a rocket arm that has allowed him to seemingly defy the laws of physics at times. Mahomes was able to put the finishing touches on an MVP-caliber season by becoming just the second player in NFL history to throw for 50 touchdowns and 5,000 yards in a season. Even more impressive is the spectacular fashion in which he did it with.
Mahomes' only blemish this year was his inability to win the big games. He now has a perfect opportunity to make up for his shortcomings in the regular season with a win over the Colts. Of course, this will be much easier said than done since Reich is happy to have his own generational talent playing at a high level in quarterback Andrew Luck.
