Jackson, 25, started five games and dressed for 15 during his rookie campaign. As that first-round hyped product out of Houston, he didn't bust out as completely as the franchise would have hoped.
Tallying 19 tackles, a sack, an interception and 13 passes defensed, Jackson served as either the nickel or dime back for most of the season. With Adam “Pacman” Jones no longer employed in Ohio, the sophomore is expected to start opposite Dre Kirkpatrick this summer leading into 2018.
Furthermore, with hard-hitting strong safety Shawn Williams and George Iloka tag-teaming the safety situation, Marvin Lewis's defensive back group looks solid on paper. Another youngster, Darqueze Dennard, is expected to represent the third or fourth corner to go along with excellent top-end depth.
