Cincinnati Bengals president Mike Brown officially welcomed quarterback Joe Burrow to the team on Wednesday ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Brown sent Burrow a letter that said they looked forward to building championships together. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Brown also sent Joe Burrow and his parents No. 9 jerseys.

This is what everyone expected for months, but there were rumors that a team might like the Miami Dolphins might try to put together a deal to move up.

There was also concern at one point that the Burrow might not want to play for the Bengals. LSU coach Ed Orgeron didn't see any reason that Burrow wouldn't want to play with the Bengals.

He also said Joe Burrow would be willing to fight even if there was some adversity:

“Joe wasn't the Heisman Trophy winner when he got here. He developed, he got better, he kept his mouth shut. Obviously, we all heard the stories [of other No. 1 picks] going to this team or that team, they haven't had a good record or whatever. I think that Joe has not had a silver spoon in his mouth all his life. I think Joe has had to fight all his life. And I think if he does have to fight — and it may be Cincinnati — he's willing to fight for that. And he's willing to build a team. And he's willing to go through adversity if he has to.

“Nothing was promised to him here [at LSU]. He came here with faith and built a championship team. And I don't see why he couldn't do it at Cincinnati.”

The Bengals are a little different situation than what Joe Burrow came into at LSU, but the hope is he will be able to bring the Bengals a Super Bowl after being selected with the No. 1 pick in the draft.
