The NFL season is still far from over, but there are already a good number of teams that are looking forward to the upcoming NFL Draft. One of the teams already twiddling their thumbs in anticipation for April is the Cincinnati Bengals.

They are heavy favorites to win the first overall pick, and Heisman front-runner Joe Burrow is considered a heavy favorite to win the first overall pick.

However, Fox Sports' Jason McIntyre makes an argument for the team making a different selection for the first pick.

The question on everyone's mind: Do the Bengals —or whoever ends up with the first overall pick — draft Ohio-born quarterback Joe Burrow, the Heisman frontrunner who's starred this year at LSU, or an utterly dominant defensive end and worry about a quarterback later? (And by later, I mean Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence next year.)

With questions about the quarterbacks and none about the Buckeyes' absolute game-changer, give me Chase Young at No. 1.

This pick is not a slight on Burrow's ability as a quarterback. He's the Heisman frontrunner for a reason. The former Buckeye is playing some top-notch football, registering 4,366 passing yards and 44 touchdowns for the LSU Tigers. In any other year, he would easily be the first overall pick.

However, the promise of Trevor Lawrence is too salivating to ignore. The sophomore quarterback is the once-in-a-generation athlete who passes the eye test and the analytics checks. He's going to be a transcendent talent for the team who will get to select him, and it's in the Bengals' best interests to keep themselves terrible if they want to get him.

Young will be a great addition to the Bengals if they pick him. He's gotten 16.5 sacks, 38 tackles, and seven forced fumbles in his junior year for the Buckeyes.
