The last time the Cincinnati Bengals were in the playoffs was back in 2015. It's been (almost) seven long years, but at this point, it looks like they are going to make a triumphant return to this season's playoffs.
Thanks to back-to-back wins, the 9-6 Bengals are now in a great position to make their first playoffs berth after an extended hiatus. If and when they actually make it to the postseason, this young team's lack of experience could be an issue for them. If you ask Joe Burrow, however, the second-year quarterback just isn't buying into this narrative:
Article Continues Below“The last three weeks for us have been playoff games,” Burrow told Mike Florio of PFT on Sunday. “The next two are playoff games for us as well. If we don’t win one of these next two, we’re not going to be in. I think we’ve had a lot of high-pressure moments this year.”
Fair point from the Bengals star here. As he mentioned in his statement above, a playoff spot is anything but guaranteed for Cincinnati at this point. They face off against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs this coming weekend and it goes without saying that this is going to be an extremely tough test for the Bengals.
According to Burrow, however, his team is “excited for the challenge” and that they are all “excited for what we can do” as they try to put an end to the red-hot Chiefs' eight-game winning streak.
