Players would do anything to win a Super Bowl. It's arguably the hardest to win in pro sports. Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are all eyes on the grandest prize in football, and if they wanted to practice a few superstitions to make them feel better about their chances, there's really nothing to stop them.
Speaking of which, Burrow clarifies that the manner with which he sports his socks has nothing to do about being superstitious, according to Aditi Kinkhabwala of the NFL Network.
Yes, Joe Burrow always wears one sock inside out. But no, he said, he wouldn’t call himself superstitious. “It’s just something I’ve always done,” said the #Bengals QB.
Superstitions and sports go a long way back. It's probably even as old as sports, but Burrow's socks apparently aren't part of that tradition of sorts.
What's more important for the Bengals signal-caller is better pass protection in Super Bowl 56 against the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams will be parading the scary duo of Aaron Donald and Von Miller against Cincinnati's offensive line that has has its share of troubles in the playoffs. It was not that long ago when Burrow got sacked nine times in the AFC Divisional Round against the Tennessee Titans, though the Bengals obviously survived that.
Burrow's fate in Super Bowl 56 will not be defined by a sock.
