It remains to be seen whether or not Cincinnati is one of the teams that is willing to pay a heavy price tag for a running back. Mixon is hardly the caliber of player McCaffrey is so it is safe to assume that the Bengals are not planning on paying him $16 million per year.

Regardless, there is no denying that his emergence as one of the most talented, young backs in the league has served as one of the few bright spots amid their ongoing rebuild.

The Bengals are set to welcome their new franchise quarterback in Joe Burrow at the 2020 NFL Draft. Although dealing with a potential holdout from Mixon is hardly ideal for a potential resurgence next season, it seems they have already started to take precautions.
