The Cleveland Browns came into their Week 4 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens looking to make a statement. After a slow 1-2 start to the season after an offseason full of hype, they had received a ton of criticism. They wanted to shut those critics up and show the Ravens that they were still the best team in the AFC North division.
While there is still a lot more proving for the Browns to do, they made the statement they were targeting. Cleveland took care of Baltimore by a final score of 40-25 and did a great job against rising star quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Following the game, the Browns moved to the top of the division. That's right, after all of the media scrutiny and hate that they have received, the Browns are still the division leader after the first quarter of the season.
With all of that being said, here are three things we learned about the Browns in their big win over the Ravens.
3. Jarvis Landry Is Still the Browns' Top Target
Granted, Odell Beckham Jr. is without question the most talented wide receiver on the roster. That doesn't mean that he is the true top target for Baker Mayfield.
Landry was always going to be the X-Factor for the offense. He showed that this week in a big way with eight receptions for 167 yards. Beckham is still going to put up big numbers as the season moves forward, but Landry is going to be the most consistent weapon for Mayfield to target.
Article Continues Below2. The Defense Is Going To Be A Threat
Let's stop the idea that the Browns have a bad defense that isn't performing up to their expectations. Denzel Ward has missed time, as has Damarious Randall. This week, against a rising star quarterback in Jackson, the Browns showed some of the potential that they have.
Even without Ward, the Browns were able to force Jackson to throw two interceptions. They also sacked Jackson four times throughout the game. This unit is going to be a threat for any offense they face moving forward.
1. Good Things Happen When Nick Chubb Gets the Football
Finally, the Browns finally focused on getting Nick Chubb the football and good things happened. Freddie Kitchens has been very vocal about wanting to get Chubb going. That happened this week against Baltimore.
Chubb carried the football 20 times for 165 yards and three touchdowns on the afternoon. He also caught three passes for 18 yards. When Chubb gets going and can take the pressure off of Mayfield, this Cleveland offense has the potential to put up huge numbers, like they did against the Ravens.
