The Cleveland Browns have narrowed down their choices for the first overall pick in the upcoming draft to be one of the promising quarterbacks in this year's class. There has been much belief that the franchise has set their eyes on choosing between the likes of USC's Sam Darnold and Wyoming's Josh Allen.

However, there a few other quarterbacks that remain in the picture such as Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield as a possibility at the selection. More fuel was brought to that premise with the Browns holding a private workout with Mayfield on Monday, according to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network.

This latest development comes just a few days after he had met with both the Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills. There had been previous talks that the Browns that the two sides were going to orchestrate a sit-down between at some point prior to the draft.

Mayfield has spoken highly of Cleveland in this pre-draft process stating that he could help turn around the franchise from utter lack of sustained success that they have had over the last several years. There is no absence of confidence from him concerning ability on the field and how he can positively impact the play of his teammates.

He has shown much potential on the field behind a highly successful collegiate career where he earned the Heisman Trophy award this past season. He also led the nation’s most productive offense while completing 71 percent of his passes for 4,340 yards and 41 touchdown passes.

The decision for the Browns to bring in Mayfield is to get a better feel for the top available quarterbacks in this year's draft having spent time with Darnold, Allen, and even UCLA's Josh Rosen over the last several days. The selection at the first overall pick could be a franchise-altering move, which makes this entire process extremely vital to taking the player.
