With Baker Mayfield under center and a receiving corps that includes Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry, you would think the Cleveland Browns would be a very pass-heavy team going into 2019, but head coach Freddie Kitchens says that won't be the case.

Kitchens said that the Browns “won't be a pass-happy team” and that “we're going to run the football,” according to Nate Ulrich of The Akron Beach Journal.

While the Browns certainly have some stars littering their aerial attack, they also have a couple of fine running backs in Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, the latter of which will miss the first eight games of the season due to a suspension.

So, while it may be tempting to air it out every down, Cleveland is going to need some balance to avoid becoming predictable, and that is where its ground game comes into play.

Chubb proved this past season that he is certainly capable of carrying the load, as he rushed for 996 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 5.2 yards per carry in what was his rookie year.

As for Hunt? The 23-year-old is two years removed from leading the NFL with 1,327 yards on the ground, so once he returns, he will add yet another dimension to what could be a lethal Browns offense.

Cleveland is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which it went 7-8-1, marking its best finish since winning 10 games all the way back in 2007, and with additions like Beckham, Hunt, Olivier Vernon and Sheldon Richardson this offseason, the Browns seem primed to make some noise in 2019.
