It has been a few days since former Pro Bowl wide receiver Josh Gordon made his return to the Cleveland Browns after treating a personal matter to keep his life in order.

However, he has quickly suffered a setback as he's dealing with a minor hamstring injury that has flared up shortly after his return to the practice field. According to Scot Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram, Gordon has yet to return fully to practice as he was seen working with trainers on the side on Monday morning.

This shouldn't be a cause for concern as the Browns are going the precautionary route with the injury given what he's dealing with. There is still plenty of time for him to get his body right ahead of the start of the regular season as these next several days will provide more clarity on how severe it was and how long it could linger on in training camp. The fact that he's getting work on it is a positive sign for what may lie ahead of him in his recovery.

The Browns are counting on him to play a major factor in their offensive game plan as one of their primary receivers. The hope is that he can form a formidable tandem in the passing game alongside Pro Bowler Jarvis Landry this upcoming season that could help lead the team to much success. Gordon had shown in his brief time on the field this past campaign that he hadn't skipped a beat with his ability on the field despite missing the last couple of years due to suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy multiple times.

Although Gordon isn't practicing at the moment, his involvement on the field with the trainers does show he is making steps in the right direction in his recovery from the injury.
