The Cleveland Browns have made the decision to move on from head coach Hue Jackson on Monday morning after falling to a disappointing loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8 action.
With that in mind, it has pushed forward betting odds for the next head coach from BetOnline.ag that has some intriguing names listed as potential hires.
The early favorites to land the job are Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley along with Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach Zac Taylor. Riley was the head coach for rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield, which would bring aboard an extremely familiar face for him and likely a similar offensive playbook that he excelled with during his collegiate career.
Article Continues BelowRiley has already discussed the situation voicing that he didn't want to go to the NFL just yet, but if the Browns were to be serious in their pursuit in him things could bet interesting in a hurry. Meanwhile, the decision to place Taylor tied for the top betting odds in quite intriguing as much of this could be tied to him helping the maturation process for Pro Bowl quarterback Jared Goff in his third year in the league.
He is in his first year in the position with the team after he had held the role as the wide receivers coach the year prior. He was also the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator at the University of Cincinnati back in 2016. He also held that same position with the Miami Dolphins back in the 2015 campaign, which he spent four years with the organization first being the assistant quarterbacks coach to the quarterbacks coach then offensive coordinator.
There are other interesting names on the list like Rams head coach Sean McVay, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, and Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. There is a range of names on the board, but it is clear that the betting odds believe it will be another offensive-minded hiring for the Browns.
