The Andrew Luck saga continues for the Indianapolis Colts. The star quarterback has yet to play a down this season since undergoing shoulder surgery back in January, and the latest news may shed even more doubt on whether he'll get under center this season.
The Colts thought Luck was getting closer to his return as he began throwing recently. It appears that may not be the case as he's started to experience pain and they want to figure out why via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.
It looks more and more likely by the week that Colts quarterback Andrew Luck won’t see the field again this year. The latest is he began experiencing pain again after throwing a couple of weeks ago, via Fox’s Jay Glazer, and has sought further medical opinions to determine why.
Obviously, this isn't good news for the Colts. The 2017 NFL season is basically lost at this point for Indianapolis with the team sitting at 2-6 with three straight losses. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett has played better than expected since becoming the starter, but it hasn't been enough to win football games on a weekly basis.
As for Luck, the prospect of playing this season appears to be getting worse and worse. There's no rush to bring him back this year with it being highly unlikely the team gets in the playoff hunt even with him under center.
The real question moving forward is whether Luck's health is an issue long-term. If it is, the Colts will have to change their plans for the future and may have to seriously consider parting ways with Luck in one way or another.
