The Dallas Cowboys finally got back into the win column last Thursday after a disastrous three-game skid. The Cowboys' offense appeared to find its rhythm during their 38-14 dismantling of the Washington Redskins. However, there was a bit of a scare during the game when quarterback Dak Prescott exited for a moment with an injury to his throwing hand.
Fortunately, he quickly returned to help secure Dallas' sixth win of the year. According to Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, head coach Jason Garret is not concerned about his starting quarterback's hand moving forward:
“I saw him this morning, our players went on the hospital visits, so got a chance to see everybody and seems like he’s fine,” Garrett said. “Moving around fine, doesn’t seem to bother him.”
Prescott's status was initially worrisome given that he sustained the injury to his throwing hand. It is promising to hear Garrett echo the second-year quarterback's own comments, claiming that it will not be an issue during the final stretch of the season.
It is no secret that it's been a disappointing year for “America's Team;” however, their win over Washington is a positive step in their final push for playoff contention. At 6-6, they will likely need to win out in order to do reach the postseason, which could prove to be a tall task. Following a divisional showdown against the lowly New York Giants, Dallas' schedule features games against the Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, and Philadelphia Eagles.
