The Dallas Cowboys earned a much needed victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. That's the good. As for the bad? Wide receiver Dez Bryant hurt his ankle in the second half.

After the game, via Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News, Dez Bryant said that it was “a little sore and bruised.”

While the Cowboys are obviously hoping he is fine, with the team calling it just a sprain after the game, they are still waiting to find out the severity of the injury.

With the Philadelphia Eagles dominating other NFL teams at the moment, while having a death grip on the NFC East, Dallas can't afford any slips for the rest of the season. It is why, at least in part, the game against Kansas City was so important.

Furthermore, even if the Cowboys are no longer truly playing for the division, wildcard implications are now fully realized. The National Football League has hit its midway point of the season, and teams are starting to separate from each other. For Dez Bryant and company, it appears Dallas is in good shape to matter come the end of the season.

Bryant had six catches for 73 yards in the 28-17 win, which left him second on the team to Terrance Williams in both areas. Williams had nine catches for 141 yards and also hurt his ankle late in the proceedings. As it was for Bryant, Williams said his ankle was “sore” after the game.

At this point the season, everyone has to be at least sore.
