According to a tweet earlier this afternoon from Clarence Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones said the team plans to either cut or attempt to trade longtime cornerback Orlando Scandrick this offseason.

Scandrick has been with the Cowboys since he was selected in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL Draft, but recurring injury problems have really limited his on-field production, and it appears Dallas is going to try to move on from him.
Via an article published on Tuesday by DallasCowboys.com staff writer David Helman:
“Those are all things we take a look at,” Stephen Jones said. “We haven’t made that decision. We haven’t made any decision final at this point. Those are all things that go into the mix. You’d always like to trade anybody before you cut them. I’d rather get something than nothing, every time.”
The Cowboys are reportedly also considering switching Byron Jones from safety to cornerback to join Dallas' other young corners in Jourdan Lewis, Chidobe Awuzie, and Anthony Brown.
“We did draft guys, especially Chidobe can play back there. But we also like Chidobe as a corner, probably more so than we do a safety,” Stephen Jones said. “Those are all things we’re going to be massaging and figuring out what we should do. But I do think it’s easier to find a safety than a corner.”
In 11 starts at cornerback for the Cowboys in the 2017 season, Scandrick recorded 38 total tackles and had three pass deflections. He has made 399 tackles, eight interceptions, 64 pass deflections, and forced seven fumbles in 125 career games.
