Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper continues to focus on football rather than a new contract.

ESPN staff writer Todd Archer reported on the development on June 12.

Amari Cooper is not sweating out when he will get a long-term contract with the Dallas Cowboys finalized.

He said he has not talked to his agents much about discussions, which have yet to ramp up in earnest.

‘I just handle my business,' Cooper said. ‘I'm more anxious about camp and actually playing football.'

Cooper will earn an estimated $13.9 million this season on the fifth-year option of his rookie deal, per Archer. Dallas traded its 2019 first-round draft pick to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for Cooper in October 2018. The Cowboys intend to keep him for the long haul.

Other receivers such as the Atlanta Falcons' Julio Jones, New Orleans' Michael Thomas, and the Bengals' A.J. Green are currently in discussions for contract extensions or revised deals. Dallas hopes to smooth out Cooper's contract by the time training camp kicks off in July, per Archer.

Cooper remains unfazed when discussing the wide receiver market. According to Archer, the Cleveland Browns' Odell Beckham, Jr. “is the highest-paid receiver at $18 million per season.” Antonio Brown ($16.7 million), Mike Evans ($16.5 million), and DeAndre Hopkins ($16.2 million) round out the top four.

Cooper has not missed a day of offseason training with the Cowboys. He didn't skip voluntary organized team activities and the mandatory minicamp, per Archer.

That's a testament to Cooper's focus and dedication to football. He'll let his game do the talking for him. Once his agents iron out his new contract, he will show everybody he's worth every penny.
